    upgrade-o-phobic

    Hi,
I am developing my site using Actinic V6.1.2.
I have done some modifications which include changing existing templates as well as creating specialised templates (mainly primary and productline line) for each section.

If i upgrade to V6.1.3, I am unclear as to how it will affect my changes. I have read Chris Dicken's upgrade document but would appreciate clarification on the following points :

    1. Once i've downloaded and run the .exe file, do i select 'yes' 'no' or 'cancel' for the Site upgrader?

If 'yes' - will site upgrader 'upgrade' my custom templates?
Will I lose all the changes i have made??

If 'no' or 'cancel' - does that mean nothing gets upgraded? And does it need to be done at a later stage.

Guess I'm just confused as to whether the basic templates have changed and, if so, how do i apply it to my new templates?

    2. Once upgrade is complete, do i refresh or update my web site?

Any advice or reassurance greatly appreciated.

I would suggest you say "Yes" to the site upgrader. It will automatically upgrade any files you have not modified and will ask for confirmation on files that you have - this way, any changes it makes you will be aware of. I have made a set of templates with the bulk of them being custom at http://www.digishopdirect.com but the only template it asked to upgrade was Order02.html. On two other sites I upgraded, no custom templates were changed.

Once you have upgraded, you can "Update" rather than "Refresh" but you will probably find that the update will re-upload all files anyway so it's not really relavent.
