Problem with Importing From V8

Hi all,

I built a site with a trial copy of version 8, and want to import it into my copy of V7. However, the trial version of 8 has expired and I can't get at my site to export it. Is there any other way of getting my V8 site to open in V7, or will I have t scrap the site and start all over again?

You can put 7 into 8, but not 8 into 7. If you have a snapshot of V8, then delete your trial software and then reload it for a new 30 day trial.

I was hoping you weren't going to say that!!! I'm not sure if I did snapshot, just backups, as I was just 'playing' so looks likes it's an opporunity to do the whole blasted thing again. Yay!

You may be able to use the database backup, have a play and see if you can use it. If building a store you should be taking at least one snapshot a day, often more.

Copy your V8 Site1 folder somewhere safe. Then uninstall / reinstall V8. Now copy your Site1 folder back.
