    Adjusting order numbers

We have a client with 4 sites and soon a 5th (All managed via Developer)

When they receive customer calls, etc. one problem is quickly identifying which site a purchase was made from (asking the customer the name of the web site must sound strange).

Is it possible to include a code somewhere in the order no which would enable them to identify which site was used?

As all orders start AANNAA (alpha, numeric) it would be good if the the 1000 that always follows could start with either 1,2,3,4,5 depending upon the site, i.e. Site1 = 1 , Site 2 = 2 and so on.

Has anyone come across this before?

If so, any words of wisdom?

    Regards

    Jos

Simple solution whilst they incorporate your idea into 6.1.4 is to give the order number a high number for each site through, help, troubleshooting. and then order number so site 1 would have an order number of 10000 and site 2 20000 and so on

You can just go to 'Help | Troubleshooting' and enter a value of something like

      10001

      into the 'Order Number' field.
