    Paypal question

    Hello everyone,

All my Paypal orders go into "Pending Payment Service Provider" instead of "Pending". I thought that I followed all the suggestions given in other threads about Paypal integration but clearly I must have missed something.

Not a big issue but can anyone help?

    Thanks

    is it a recent thing?
following an upgrade? or just started happening for no reason?

      Hi Tracey

It's been liked that since the beginning.

      Cheers

ok...there was an incident..some time ago..when Paypal did "something" that meant that none of us on V7(something..not sure how version specific it was) were getting the payment notifications in Actinic..

We had to change something but I cannot recall what!

I'm sure it'll be in the forums somewhere..I'll see if I can dig out the thread!

I don't know if any of this applies to you (version number/host etc)

          But..it might help?

Thanks for your help, sorry I've only just been able to get back to you.

I made the change detailed in post 96 of the thread. I still have the orders in "Pending Payment Service Provider" instead of "Pending". In fact, I also get the following error:

            A General Script Error Occurred
Error: Bad input string "SEQUENCE=3&ACTION=Finish&ORDERNUMBER=CS80EQ10000451&REFPAGE=http%3a%2f%2fwww%2erugsandstuff%2eco%2euk%2facatalog%2fFlokati_Rugs%2ehtml&&tx=9V355199E2319594L&st=Completed&amt=28.99&cc=GBP&cm=&sig=EyERuC4FCymhfCwoYYzla7YBb2PMbfax2g1buhFVYr16aMwiIdjV9zAzp8B2T36fdLZIgShebsGCVEmPECw2PdHxL8m15vNTxWFpSBhxvt%2bvuTS5yW9C7qztyo%2fY%2fA%2bMcp0pt%2blii3ysmtqXiINox1zBUdjmdMZ0vUMPrd6g7uQ%3d". Argument count 20. Press the Browser back button and try again or contact the site owner.

I undid the change and still got the same error so I suspect that error has been there all along but nobody told me about it.

Orders and payments arrive so not a major problem.

I've remade the change from post 96. If anyone can shed a light on either of these issues, please let me know.

            Many thanks

You should only make the change in the thread that Tracey sent you to if your host agrees this is the problem otherwise leave well alone.

We had the fix defined for our hosting because at the time we made changes to our firewall so it wasn't letting call backs through.

This fix may not be applicable to your situation, thus you should undo it and ask your host if they think it could be the casue of your problem

                OK Jo, thanks.

I've unmade the change and I'll check again whether I get the error. However, the lack of callback is still the original issue.

My Paypal Instant Payment Notification Preferences are:
                Instant Payment Notification (IPN) On
Instant Payment Notification (IPN) URL: http://www.rugsandstuff.co.uk/cgi-bin/os000001.pl?

In Website Payment Preferences, Auto Return is On and the return URL is http://www.rugsandstuff.co.uk/acatalog/index.html

Any other settings I need to worry about?

If anyone can help, that would be great.
                Thanks

                  Constantine,

Can you please do the following, turn IPN off and remove the URL, leave 'Auto Return' on but you do not need to specify a URL there leave it blank and the call back should work.

                  Kind regards,
                  Bruce King

                    Thanks Bruce.

I've changed IPN to Off and removed the URL. I tried deleting the URL from the auto return section but paypal won't allow auto return to be on and have a blank url. So I've left it in. No time to test, I'll let you know tomorrow.

                      Bruce

The changes haven't worked. The purchaser still gets the error mentioned above and the order still goes into "Pending Payment Service Provider".

                      Any other ideas?

                      Thanks

Have you turned Payment Data Transfer off?

Thanks for the suggestion Mick. It was set to On so I changed it to Off. I also changed Auto Return to Off.

The error has now gone away, cheers.

But the orders are still in PSP-Pending.
