Menu only showing on certain pages

I have changed the css file to create a custom menu down the left handside but it only appears on pages which have products and cant be seen on the following pages

Home
Site Map
Terms
Search
View Cart
Checkout
Contact Us

seems to be all the pages across the top menu

By default the Brochure pages 'Home, Site Map, Terms' and the checkout pages 'Search, View Cart, Checkout, Contact Us' etc use different overall layouts. Looks like you have referenced the CSS correctly in the catalog layout but missed it for the other overall layouts.
