Enlarging Buffer Size

I am trying to add product descriptions in my search results. When I try and upload, I receive the following error: The product information buffer is too large for the index engine. Buffer size is 4329. The limit is 2048. This is probably due to the product descriptions being included in the search results.
Turn off the display of product descriptions etc...

How can I increase the product info buffer limit to include descriptions (I have already adjusted the code to only show a limited # of characters) in the search results. Thanks...

In 'Settings | Search Settings' go to the results tab and switch off 'Highlight Located Text'. Click on 'Apply' and then update the website. Let me know if that helped.

From memory this is not just down to the amount of text being shown or the highlight of results, but more with how many searchable properties are in existance from our experience.

We have a site which had approx 40 searchable custom properties, could have been a few more and hit the same buffer size issue.

The only solution was to reduce the number of searchable properties we included in the site to get the upload to work and then eventually a complete rethink and rebuild of the custom properties we populated, which in our case under v8 was through less properties (variables) and utilizing list options.

We raised this as an issue under v8 at the end of last year, beginning of this one.
