Digital Downloads

Hey Guys,
My company wants to offer digital downloads (ebooks) but when i add them to the site it add's shipping costs to them as we use a set price for shipping not shipping by weight.

Can anyone suggest a solution without changing the way we currently work out the shipping?

Hi,

Would the following not work for you ...

Business Settings -> Ordering -> Tick check box 'Exempt Digital Download Products from Shipping'

Hi Graham,
I'll double check the settings now but im sure that when i tick that box i get a message stating that free shipping on digital downloads is only avilable if i change to weight based shipping prices. i'll check and repost in 10.

When I enable the option and try to update the site i get the message:

"You have selected the option to exclude digital download products from shipping. This option works with quantity and weight based shipping only therefore will not work with your current configuration."

any suggetions?

use shipping by weight.....

ie set the shipping table up

weight 0 to 999 cost = your default cost

all products can use default weight ie no weight, all shipping is priced at default cost.
