No description meta tags found

I'm a newcomer so bear with me.
A meta tag analysis of my site reports "no description meta tags or keywords meta tags found" but all this information has been entered in the appropriate places in the catalogue pages. Presumably this will effect my rankings - any ideas please?

Its more than likely the analysis tool that is incorrect.

Please post your URL so we can see.

Otherwise a forum search will throw up other threads where the same topic has been discussed before. ie some online analysers incorrectly say there are no meta tags when there are.

Most of these FREE analysers are on the sites of companies offering SEO services so it is in thier interest to find fault with your site as they can then offer to fix it for you!
