Cookie error when user adds to their basket

    Hi,

This could be quite a simple request but we have just started having problems with IE6 browsers not allowing additions to the basket due to Actinic complaining that the users cookies are not working (using Actinic v3). If the site URL is allowed in the users web site privacy box or the privacy setting is set to low, all is ok. (IE5.5 and below work fine.)

Is there anything that we can do to prevent the error report and allow the basket to work under IE6 or is it a version upgrade. We are really happy with the functionallity of V3 and it would seem a pity to go through the pain of upgrading to solve an IE6 issue.

Anyone out there had similar problems and found a fix?

    Hi Phillip

What's the URL of your store? Are you using frames in the design? I can add to cart on most Actinic stores with a medium-high privacy setting in IE6.2.

Upgrading to Actinic v6 would give you the ability to set up a privacy policy which would mean that customers could order with a higher privacy setting.

      Hi,

The site url is www.pickeringchatto.com and yes they do use frames. Is this now a problem with p3p not allowing 3rd party URL's?

Yes, I think it is. The summary for the cookie error states that it cannot find the privacy policy.

W3C introduced P3P to increase security for the internet user. Upgrading to Actinic v6 is one way to set up a P3P policy or you can find instructions here.
