    coupon code cart display order

    Hi,

Using V7 Business, we have put a some new coupon codes on our site. All work fine apart from the order in which they appear in the shopping cart detail on checkout.

Coupon codes are entered in checkout, not on product pages.

For example a customer orders two products and then enters a coupon code which will give a £1 off discount.

I want the two products to come first and then the -£1.00 just above the subtotal as this is easier to read, in the final checkout page.

What I am getting is product, then discount line and then another product line before subtotal, shipping and total.

This makes it very hard to read.

I can't work out any reason that is appearing this way. The coupon code line item has no product ref associated with it. But it does not appear to relate to if a numeric or A-Z string is used for the other product refs with regard to sort order and line appearance.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Dave

I have tested it on a default site with exactly the same settings as per your screenshots on the other thread and it seems to be working fine on V7. The discount is displayed below the product line items. I would suggest that you either speak to our technical support if you have a cover contract or register an email query here so that one of our technical support team member will have a look at it for you.

      Hi,

thanks for the reply and with regard to the related issue.

I have logged a support call and working through the implications of their reply which I will post soon.

Main thing seems to be so far is that when I try it the result is variable. If two seperate items are ordered then the consolidated discount may appear as the bottom line. If however one of the items is ordered with a multiple quantity then the discount does not appear to want to be the final line.

With regard to distribution of the discount between line items this appears to be a deliberate policy of the software. However again this seems variable depending upon if multiple items are ordered.

Now looking to change the discount type from the cart contents to the order level type within discounts. This seems to solve some of the problems but raises more.

      Many thanks
      Dave
