Secure & Nonsecure items

Hiya,

I have uploaded my site with new secure pages in the checkout and I am getting the message 'this page displays both secure & nonsecure items'.

I have changed all my image links to 'https' but it is still coming up with this message.

I have gone through the html over and over again but can't seem to find the culprit - does anyone have any ideas?

Any help is much appreciated.

Is this an Actinic site - does not look like one to me. Also I cannot see a buy button on any products.

it is Actinic, just hover over the view basket/checkout links at the top of each page to see thetrademark cgi bin link

Ahh I can see now in checkout - I dont get any error messages though. Working ok in ie6

VERY confusing add to cart system going on there ... and a dancing layout...

clicking on the "buy now" button you would think adds to the cart .. but it opens

.. notice the /acatalog/ and the dancing layout .. from here you have to click yet another "add to basket" ... different label and another click.

This could easily confuse people into thinking they have added the item twice. The first link should be labeled "more info" or similar rather than "buy now".

Using Firefox 2.0.0.4 I did get an error showing "Parts of the page you were viewing were not encrypted...." .. this was seen clicking the golden padlock rather than the usual pop-up warning.

When using an SSL be sure to keep all your links document relative.

Any absolute links outside the https will of course throw up an error.

Also check for any hidden stat counters you may use, off page js files elsewhere, banners, adpeeps stuff etc.

Easy way to check is open up 2 browsers and point to secure and non-secure page and 'dissallow' the non secure items and spot the difference.

Its because the front end is not Actinic which was confusing me when I first saw it - I suspect the problems are coming from moving between the non actinic and actinic pages?

That would not cause an issue. As long as the 'front end' was hard coded correctly.

You can build any amount of pages outside of actinic and then bring them into the catalog with the add to cart or view more info as I am sure you know (not meaning to teach you how to suck eggs Malc). (We have used this method for clients but only on one-offs or limited life lines)

However, a very long winded and counter productive way to utilise the software IMHO and if you do get it wrong it can be a mare to locate the error when tracing back.

I think your problem lies with the CALL ME and MEET THE INSTALLERS.

What I would do is create a 'naked' (bet Lee finds this!) layout for the checkout and keep it all doc rel. and apply this to the checkout process. Nice, clean and simple to manage.

I like eggs - yum yum. I used to build sites this way as well but soon gave up because they cause more work than they save. As you say if they work they are ok but when they dont then you have big problems as may be illustrated here.

I too would take the site back to basics but Im not seeing the error that is being discussed

Yep : the Actinic version in /acatalog/ is on HTTPS ... the other (presumably controlling the non Actinic site) is on HTTP

If the stylesheets are the same try pointing to the single copy inside /actalog/

All other media (images) are showing as being on HTTPS
