    Downloading orders

A couple of questions about the orders section..
    1) downloading orders takes an age - so slow that I'm sometimes getting timeouts. Any suggestions/advice
    2) I currently have all orders (around 550) in the orders section; should I occassionally delete/purge very old orders (having archived them, of course!)? Will this improve performance?
    Thanks

slowness with probably be down to the connection or server rather than the software

Those level of orders within the software would not generally cause the slow download of orders to the machine, unless the machine itself was under presure, i.e. low on memory or using a slow Pentium cpu maybe, but AMD k's are fine with Actinic.

How fast is your host when it conducts CGI operations like adding to cart and conducting searches. If this is fine and speedy then it will not be the host that is the problem and maybe a quick Compact of the Database might help to streamline things for you.

        Hope this helps.....
