I use Barclaycard Business for credit card payments - Actinic is simply a way of transmitting card details, and I process payments offline using a Barclays PDQ terminal, with transactions being classified as "Cardholder not present".
I've received a letter from Barclays indicating that all card-accepting merchants must take steps to become PCI DSS compliant by April 2008, and that I have to tell them by July 2007 how this will be done.
This issue would seem to be one that affects everyone on this forum - although not all will use Barclays.
A single PC/Actinic solution would, I feel, be quite a common one amongst users here, and yet the costs that may be incurred in ensuring compliance, especially for a small business, may be seen by some as prohibitive.
I wonder if anyone else has yet addressed this issue, and what experiences have been had, or indeed if there are any Actinic issues we should be aware of.
BTW I use Actinic V6 but may upgrade at some point - and I host with Claranet, an Actinic partner.
Regards to all
Nick
