Currency Exchange

Hi, I am using Worldpay as my psp. Currently i will like to have a real time currency exchange in my site. Worldpay do provide a url that allow me to retrieve the lastest exchange rate. So where should i start?

Worldpay only change their exchange rates once a day at 12 o clock at night, so you only need to update your exchange rates then. If you want to use this for a dual currency display I have a product that will collect this currency rate for you, update Actinic and then upload your web site, this is all automated so you do not have to be present, thus allowing you to do this just after 12.

Regarding the mole, do I have to switch on computer and run the mole and actinic 24hrs/7days? Also it it possible that it will display the price in 1 more additional currency, the Euro? I now running the trail ver of mole. What if the trail expired? Will it restore to the price of where my default setting?.

I cant be able to write java scipt to collect the data? As it wont able to update?

Actinic only supports one extra currency, so my mole only updates the price for the currency you have selected as your second currency in Actinic. If you want to display more you could use a currency converter such as xe to convert prices, there is a solution for installing this in my free software library, you will gain access to my free software library if you join my mailing list.

You do not have to leave the computer on 24/7 because this mole only runs once a day, so as long as it is on then it will be fine - if you wanted it to run in an unattended office over the weekend then you would have to leave the computer on.

When the trial expires you will then have to update the currency manually (which you can do in Actinic), it's value will be left as the value downloaded from worldpay on it's last run.

You could write java script to convert the prices online if you have the skills to do that, you could use the worldpay currency update page to pick up the current rates and then store them online - this was discussed on this forum a while ago. To complicated for me though.
