Brochure links in Primary template

I want to change the links automatically placed into my Catalogue pages (Primary Template) so that they are the same as the Brochure Page (Brochure Template).

I assumed that if I simply replaced NETQUOTEVAR:FOOTERGUIDE in Act_Primary.html with NETQUOTEVAR:HEADERGUIDE from the same place in my Act_BrochurePrimary.html but this does not work.

What I want is to have the links automatically generated for the brochure pages visible across the top of my primary template as well.
Is this possible or do I need to hand code these links?

It would be best to hard code the links to the Brochure pages, the NQV's you mention if used together will cause some duplication in links. You could use NETQUOTEVAR:HEADERGUIDE in the primary template and then use the Advanced Users Guide workaround to insert the rest of the navigation individually.
