    Email dirfect marketing

I have Actinic v 6, soon to be upgraded to v8. My issue is this.

In order to carry out some direct marketing, new peoducts etc., I want to email all past customers.
Can any tell me, is there an email address book style option for this software, which I can use to forward direct marketing, en mass?
I know that the other way is to copy and paste each individual customer email address to my "outlook express" address book, but this will take forever.
    Can anyone help with this.
    thanks.

No but you can export the data into Groupmail for example - do a search on the forum as this is a well discussed subject

you should not use an email client to send mailing lists, many ISPs restrict the number of bcc, cc to less than 50.

You should use a recognised mail program that handles sends in a controlled manner, and manages bounces and duplicates

You should start by reading the directive on who you can and not target as you must have customers approval to send them marketing material.

if done properly mailing lists are a very powerful tool, if not done properly you simply get perceived as a spammer

        Jo,
Many thanks for your prompt reply, your comments are very valid and welcome. You write about specialist programes that manage the mail distribution etc., can you offer ideas on the software etc.,
I'm a self employed businessman with a small company, where internet sales are playing havoc with certain areas of my business. So I would like to get this right first time.
Again, your comments would be welcome.

        Paul.
