Problems when uploading to my site.

Morning all,

Over the week end my site seems to have developed a problem, each time I try to upload to the site it gets no farther than "Creating remote directory structure" and then times out. I've tried hitting "Retry" but it still won't load. Does anyone have any ideas?

Run a network test and check for errors. Perhaps your host has made some changes over the weekend. First thing to check would be your folder permissions.

Damn thing is hanging again . Have checked with my host, he can't see any problems at his end, any suggestions?

Hi all,

Went to Advanced Network Setup, tried to run a test by clicking on the button, but it timed out and said unable to connect to FTP server operation timed out. Aggggh , any ideas?

Try and connect manually with an ftp client - if you can't then you need to sort that out first with your host - if you can then...

Export your network settings then check in the upload forum for other posted settings that are used on the same host as you.

If you still can't find what it is the problem then start a new thread in the Upload Problem forum and post your exported network settings there (without usernames and passwords), include your host and the hosting package you're are using with them and someone will more than likely be able to help sort it out with you.

Advanced Menu, network settings ,export to txt file

paste the txt file in here as a quite, remove usernames and passwords.

before you do this , check you can use normal FTP to connect to the site.

also tell us who the host is and what hosting plan you have bought

Spooky - we are are getting a very similar problem that started on Friday last week.

Just tried using filezilla FTP to connect still no joy, does that point toward a problem with my host?

Yes possibly, or a firewall issue on your PC. Try disabliing your firewall and retrying Filezilla.
