    Invoice and payment before delivery

    Hello,

    I have 2 methods of payment available on my website: PayPal website payments and cheques. I received an order today and when downloaded it it shows that payment method is 'Invoice and payment before delivery' and I am not sure how this happened. There are only 2 options in the checkout process 'cheque' or 'paypal website payment' and that's how all my other orders are marked after downloading. I tried to re-create the problem by placing a dummy order but could not get this result.

    Any ideas why this happened please?

    someone else posted this in the last couple of months too but I'm not sure if there was ever a solution/reason found.
    A forum search might locate the thread (a search for the payment method in quotes might find it)

      This happens to us occaisonly and we have always put it down to an integration error with worldpay.

      When it happens we usually ring the customer (who also invariably has no idea why it happened) and process a payment through worldaccess and then complete the order

      We have just put it down to a gremlin in the system

        Order not completed

        Thank you for your replies. The whole order seems to behave strangely. I am using PayPal for my online payments so just requsted payment from the customer and updated my records manually as 'Payment received'. As usual I then marked line items as shipped and they are marked as 'shipped' in order details. However, the whole order doesn't show as completed but sits under the 'pending' tab where it shows that 0% of the order has been shipped and 'date shipped' is blank. So basically I am not able to complete this order.

        Anyone had a similar problem?

          Is one of your payment methods specified as the 'fallback' method?

            I don't think so as the boxes in the 'Fallback' column are not ticked.

              Select fallback on one of the payments methods and i don't think you will get the problem again.

                Lee, I ticked fallback but still the same. The order did not move from the 'Pending' tab.

                  Did you upload your site after enabling fallback?

                  Have you taken an order since both enabling fallback and uploading?

                  if the answer to either question is no please post back when you have done both and the problem persists

                  I don't expect the effect on enabling fallback to affect orders already downloaded, but should resolve it for all new orders
