    Archive orders to a disc

    Hello,
can anybody tell me how to Archive all my completed orders to a CD and then delete from my Hard Drive. I want to do this mainly as a security issue but also to free up space on my drive.

This is what we do: (perform backup first)

Take a snapshot [ File | Snapshot | Export Site ] giving it a name indicating what it contains, saving it into the backups folder.

Using Windows Explorer navigate to the file in the folder & copy to CD.

You now have a copy on your HDD & one on CD.

Click on the oldest order, hold down [Shift] and scroll to the last order that you want to archive (for instance, as we keep six months worth available on screen in case of query, I would go to the last order on 31st December last year) and click that. The page turns highlighted blue.

    Press [Delete]

Go to Housekeeping | Purge | Purge Orders - click - then click [OK]

(Take extreme care if you ever need to restore the archive, so as not to overwrite your current data)

When I periodically archive actinic data to CD , inc snapshots etc (stuff for accountants, taxman in 5 years time etc) , I also put a exe file of the correct patch for actinic too.

Not much use having saved acd files and no actinic to copy it into

if you use the mole end processing add on then what you can do is automatically export all the invoices concerned to pdf files to a specific location.

        and then batch delete them

(and yes i know this is not a solution within actinic but the mole is excellent for this thing)
