    Help with setting up shipping

    Hey guys

On my store I charge £60 for shipping, no matter how much or little you buy. If you buy over £400 of goods shipping is then free.

I have all this set up fine, i got it to only have UK delivery, and going off total value, and it works good.

But here is my problem, all the stuff I sell is from one supplier who will charge the £60 for home delivery (kitchens and bathrooms) but I have some of my own products I stock myself.

I need to sell these products with a fixed price for delivery, say £15. Which I guess I can use components for, but how do I get these certain products to bypass the £60 charge in the first place? Also, if they buy one of the showers with an order for a kitchen, the 60 and 15 needs to be paid.

I guess adding the delivery price to the product is not the problem. But with the shipping system I have going (not via weight but value) how can I set products to have free shipping?

Please someone help! I've been racking my brains

Upgrade to V8 IMO. Or get thinking laterally with ship by weight.
Value shipping out of the window - that's a must.

Since these are fixed prices, how about building the shipping into the price and discounting the order by £60 when it is over 400. You could also discount it by another £15 if it reaches a higher price like 500.

I dont think that will work because i need to treat these as totaly seperate products on the store.

        hmm

          Hi ya

We have a similar issue and we use ship by weight.

We have furniture which has a one delivery charge and then everything else which has standard or express shipping.

All furniture has a weight of 10000 everything else has no weight. The shipping is then set by weight up to 9999 standard or express over 9999 (i think up say up to 100000000 or similar depending on how many items they are likely to order £25 or whatever your high price is.

We had this owrking on V7 and we now run V8 MU and it works a treat.

Perfect example, ship by weight with a sprinkling of lateral thinking and 95% of stores can be catered for. Forget the word 'weight' and think of it as a flexible system giving you full control.
