Option to collect in store on cart?

    Hi Everyone

Can anyone suggest any ideas or help with this one...

I want to be able to give customers the option to collect goods in store as appose to having them couriered out to them.

Anyone any thoughts as to how I could intergrate this into the shopping cart process.

    Thanks

    Andy

Add 'Invoice with order' as a payment method and just rename it to 'collect at store' in the middle column, where you define the text to display on your site.

      payment methods list

      Sorry to jump into queue!

Just a quick question! I want to have following options into my payment methods page:

1 - Credit or Debit Card
      2 - Cheque
      3 - Purchase Order

Once I have done and uploaded to webiste, Purchase order seems like a default payment methods, How can I fix "Credit or Debit Card" as a default payment method?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

In Business Settings - Payment and Security - highlight the payment method you want at the top then click the up arrow just to the right. That will move it up the list.

If doing as Duncan says does not seem to have worked, it will have for all other people, it is just being remembered as part of a previous transaction you did. Much the same as the shipping method will be too.

Just moving it up the list won't make it selected by default. For this to happen you have to tick the 'fallback' box on the one you want to be the default option.

              Problem With This Method

I have done as suggested and it works apart from one slight problem, the invoice includes our £3.95 charge for parcel force delivery...

Is there anyway I can do the collect in store option not to include delivery costs!

              Thanks again...

This may help - look in the Actinic program help - Contents tab - expand Discounts and view Creating Surcharges on Payments Methods.

                Untested:
Marketing - Discounts & Surcharges - Order Level tab - Create new discount - on General tab set Cart Value to shipping cost and Amount also to shipping cost (do not check Surcharge) - then on Restrictions tab check restricted to Payment Method - and select your chosen Payment Method you want to apply it to.

Does anyone have a method of offering a worldpay payment method with the choice of delivery OR collect in store?

I'm not sure that the other methods described in this thread will work for us.

                  Thanks for any help.

                    Yes.

'Collect from Store' is really a delivery option rather than payment.

The way I would do this is to add a delivery option/Class called 'Collect from store' and then they can choose any payment method they want when it's time to select the payment option.

                      David are you serious

Pay online and collect in store, this practise is seriously not recommended, you wide open to fraud, hang on i'll get my customer credit cards and buy from you with them then send my lorry over to pick it all up

                        Hi,

I appreciate there may be a risk attached if not managed properly but surely if we insist that the customer must collect themselves in person with the confirmation email and the card with which the item has been paid we should be reasonably well covered?

Also if I do add a delivery option as "Collect from Store" can the delivery address bits in checkout be restricted?

                        Thanks

                          So

If i get my hands ona few credit cards from the pub on friday night and place a couple of orders with them, then i pop into you store with my card and email your let me have the goods then.

I recon you might be better off reading what you credit card company actually allows you to do.

Im only trying to save you losing a load of money in the long run, if thats what you want to do then go for it, the other options are better, why not look at payoffline or the suggestions at the top of the screen, if your customer is bringing the card with him then a couple of minutes to chip and pin his card and you fully covered.

Or maybe i missing something here?

                          D

I think Darren is raising a good point about the potential for fraud but it's not uncommon for people to collect goods themselves and be asked for payment beforehand. How you manage that risk is down to you.

Also if I do add a delivery option as "Collect from Store" can the delivery address bits in checkout be restricted?
The simple answer is no because the address information is gathered before you take the payment or delivery details. In any case, I would want to have the address and contact information, especially if goods were being paid for online, as I would consider the address verification as an important check for possible fraud.

Is there any reason that I couldn't use "Invoice and payment with delivery" as tje "collect at store" option instead? It's just I'm using invoice with order already for certain registered customers.

                              Thanks
