Pound Sign Missing?

Hi guys,
I've had a few customers email through pointing out that once you get to my shopping cart to select your deliver option, the £ sign dissapears and is replaced by a square!

Does anyone have an idea why this happens? I assume it's a problem with the font I'm using, via css I defined "font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;" but surely one of these fonts must work?
