    Discount in Checkout

    Hi,

Has anyone found a suitable way of displaying the discount on the first page of the checkout?

I have got a 5% discount available on all items with the normal and discounted price shown on the item page but when an item is selected the first checkout page just shows normal price and asks Invoice and shipping location. This is confusing a few customers and Googlebase which keep telling me the price offered on google isn't available on my site although if they continued with the checkout process the discount would be applied.

    Any ideas??

    Hi Paul,

I can't seem to replicate this. Can you please confirm what type of discount you have set up? e.g. Cart Contents, Order Level, Customer Pricing...

      Discount Settings

      Hi Toby,

I am using Catalog version 7.04

and have setup a discount based on cart value.

If the order is over a £1 it applies a 5% discount.

Apart from that the only other setting is that I have selected the tick box
in discount information which says "Display discount information on the shopping car page".

      Thanks,

      Paul

        Hi Paul,

        - Right, I have installed 7.0.3 FBIA.
        - Go to View | Discounts and Surcharge Settings | Order Level
-Set up a new discount, enabled, based on Excluding Tax, percentage, and cart value is £1.00.
        - Gone to the Miscellaneous tab and only checked "Display Discounting Information on the Shopping Cart Page".
        - Uploaded the store and purchased a product.

When the shopping mode is set to "Quantity on Product Page". The discount shows just under the subtotal on the bounce page then if I click Checkout to go to the first page checkout page it displays in the same place.

Is this how you are reproducing the error?
        Regards,

          Discount in Checkout

          Hi Toby,

Yes thanks for looking into this.

          My site is ~

          http://www.allpartssouthwest.com/acatalog/shop.html

I hadn't realised there was a subtotal and full breakdown further down the page on the first page. I hadn't scrolled past the checkout now / confirm buttons.

It would appear that Googlebase are doing the same thing.

Can I add something next to the Normal Price (incl. VAT) that appears top left?

          Cheers,

          Paul
