    Discounts for 2 Price Schedules

    Hi all,

The problem I am having is that Business will only let me allow
quantity based discounts on one price schedule within the
product details of the same product.

I have two price schedules: retail, and retail2

I have the default retail set to discount after 50 units.
But when I try to apply this to the accompaning "retail 2"
price schedule, within the same product, it defaults back to
regular retail, and then prompts me saying that I must use
a different amount because the same amount cannot be
    used twice.

I want to make it so that the same "quantity discount"
set up will apply to both price schedules.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hope to hear from you soon.
    Best Regards,

      Hi John

It's a bit strange! You can work around it by creating a temporary third schedule named something other than Retailxx (say 'trade'). Set your second quantity discount under this schedule, click 'Schedule' to arrange the order by schedule name and then you find you can change the quantity discount for 'trade' to 'Retail2'.

          It worked, but.......

          Hi Ben,

That certainly did work out for me. But now I am having
another small but kind of serious issue, in my case.

I was hoping to use the Customer Message Area for each
price schedule. But it only shows the main (Retail) message,
regardless of what price schedule is being displayed in the
          cart.

Any ideas? Maybe one of the variables is missing? Which
one? What to look for? Other ideas?

Hope to hear from you soon

The schedule specific customer message is generated from the NQV:PRICEEXPLANATION variable, so if the message is not changing from the retail one when logged in, I would:
            - check that NETQUOTEVAR:PRICEEXPLANATION is in your ProductLine template
            - double check that your schedule is selected correctly in the customer account that you are using to log in
            - delete *.fil files locally and remotely and refresh the site

Where is the quantity discount button?

              I can do that bit...
Set your second quantity discount under this schedule,
              Where is this button please?
click 'Schedule' to arrange the order by schedule name and then you find you can change the quantity discount for 'trade' to 'Retail2'.
Perhaps I should explain here that I'm totally blind, using a screenreader with speech synth/Braille display, and graphics and some edit boxes are not always visible in the software. I want to allow the same quantity discounts I have set up for all my products in the Retail schedule to apply to a second schedule for preferred customers. I have set this schedule up OK, but the 5% discount is only being applied to the produc t when purchasing one, not the quantity discount.
An intermediate step please or point me to where the button is situated.
              Thanks.
