Affiliate Sites using one Actinic store

One of our clients has a requirement to have a number of affilliate websites pointing to the store on his main site.

Customers would enter these agents sites and then when they select the shop, it would bring up the shop on his main site, place their order which would be processed, sent, and paid for via his site/psp.

He would need to be able to send an e-mail to the agent confirming the order, and have some means of identifying where the order came from for commission purposes.

Can this be done with Actinic?

So that'll be an emphatic "NO" then

Well, actually it is a "yes" - but obviously people do not like to think about referrrer scripts on public holidays.

If you look in the Advanced User Guide, you will see that there is a section on 'Using the Referrer Perl Script'. This is an extra perl script that comes with Actinic, which you can link into the store through. When you link into the store via the referrer script, you can pass an extra parameter which is a custom text string that tells you which link people have clicked on to get to your store. This text string is then downloaded with the order - allowing you to see where the order came from.
