Tax exempt customer

Is there a way to make a single customer tax exempt?

I've never seen a method to exclude tax via an account. Only 2 methods that i can think of is to have a discount group which is discounted by the equivalent tax amount, i.e. 17.5% in UK. Or have specific tax free sections/products just for that group to see, if that doesn't present too much of a headache, although i suspect it would.

I have 6000 products, and add/retire about 500 a month. So a separate section won't work.

I guess I'll have to have to handle it in Quickbooks, and give a refund for the tax.
