    1 product per section

Hello. For those of you that remember, I used to frequent these boards quite alot, however I lost my way abit with the website due to commitments to my b&m shop. We did have a guy that was supposed to be taking the website forward but it didn't really work out. So its back to me again!

I'm revisiting old ground here by finally trying to nail this whole 1 product per section thing. I've nearly cracked it here but for some reason I can't make the images click through - only the 'details' button.

Duncan helped me out alot on this on this thread but I just can't get it going.

So, I need 2 pieces of advice, firstly can anyone remind me whereabouts the guide to making the 1 prod per section is (i'm sure it was in the AUG, but I can't see it any anywhere),

Secondly, has anyone got any further thoughts about why I can't make the images clickable.

No one else seems to have trouble with this - so sorry to be a PITA!

    Nick

    Welcome back Nick.

The problem seems to be because you have a different script id in the template for the image. The image uses ....ss000001.pl yet the text link is ...ss000121.pl

In my old example in the thread you referenced the scipt id of 000001 is referenced - change that to 000121 and it should work.

      Hi Duncan,

Thanks for getting back so quickly, good to see some things don't change! I'm not on the right pc at the moment - but will try it out tomorrow.

      Thanks - Nick

Thanks Duncan - that works perfectly now. Just got to nail my '1 product' templates now as they're not looking good.
        Thanks again.

Not sure for how much longer - its been there for 3.5 years now, and i'm starting to think its time for a change - maybe get some product on there. We'll see.

Thanks for your post - I may well be in touch with you. Aside from the 1PPS project, which we're trialling on one section only at the moment, we're also trialling some layout changes, and we're going to move across to protx shortly so all in all we've got a lot on our plate at the mo.

We're trying to set up a template for 1 prod per section to make life easier.
One of our sections here works fine - but here, in the template section that we've tried to build (which would normally be hidden) when you click the image it doesn't work properly.

We know there is nothing wrong with the product as we cut and pasted one into this section, and the way the sections have been built is identical, which leaves us completely stumped.

At first we thought it was the same problem that Duncan sorted out for us (see #2 above), but it doesn't seem to be.

            Any thoughts?

....&NOLOGIN=1 is missing from the link.

(EDIT: Not being a millionaire I thought I'd give it a miss anyway at the price!! )

Thanks Duncan (and Happy New Year by the way!).

Pics now working - however, on this page even though products 2 & 3 were copied from Product 1 - they seem to behave differently i.e when you click on the prod 2 (or 3) image, it puts you half way down the page (product 1 doesn't do this). However when you click 'details' on prod 2 and 3, you land at the top of the page!

                Any ideas?

Got fed up of with this method - everytime I get something working properly I make a copy of it so that I can use elsewhere on the site, but something nearly always breaks in that process. Gone back to basics and using the AUG method.
