Analytics Goal as "Contact Us" ....

Hi,

I set up a goal in Google Anlystics to see if people where submitting the Contact Us form. Rightly or wrongly I simply set the goal up to report when the following URL was reached as this is the page displayed after the submit button is hit...

I am getting some weird results as if this page is used for other things?

Is this the right way to track the Contact Us page submitted?

Yes, and a good one too, used most of the detail to track my orders, page views etc....works fine.

But there is nothing specific on a Contact Us goal as far as i can see.

Does anyone else track 'Contact Us' submissions?

Hi Simon,
You need to follow steps 2, 3 and 5 of my guide (use Bruces link above) but using the relevant template file for the 'contact us' page instead of Act_ReceiptPrimary.html.

Also change the goal to 'contactus' (or something suitable) and change this line in step 2:

urchinTracker('receipt.html');

to

urchinTracker('contactus.html');
