Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Is anyone aware of, or come across this thing called a Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability. Apparently, this is a common occurance in ecommerce websites that largely remains unaddressed.
I would be interested to hear from anyone on this issue.
