old actinic web site, new problems

We have had a actinic site now for 5 years, we haven't upgraded it, as we have always been frightened of losing our search rankings in google and alike.

Our main problem has been accepting low cost orders on the shopping cart.
We offer free delivery on our hampers but customers can also add individual products to these hampers thats fine, but then sometimes customers just try to order these individual items on their own and get the free delivery, the web site accepts the order the customer gets a confirmation and we are left with a low cost order, which we are left with giving free delivery on.

We have upped the minimum cost the web site will accept a order on, but these customers seem to recognise what we have done, and try and beat the system.

Our web designer says he can't add a default delivery charge for these individual low cost items, as actinic won't let him do it, is he right?

i would still advocate upgrading as there are loads of new features you are missing out on including a simpler solution to this scenario

you will not loose SEO positions as the upgrader will keep the same page names

It's a simple change, go to view / business settings, go to the shipping and handling tab, set the shipping and handling basis to simple and put the delivery charge in for the low cost items, then just a bit further down the tab is a free over box, so put the amount you want as the minimum spend to get free delivery in there. Upload and Actinic will now charge x for orders under your minimum.
