    Acatalog pages and sitemap links

    Hi,

We are in the process of creating one page per product in our catalogue, however we will then have 3000 product links that will appear in the /acatalog page and the sitemap.html page.
Is there a way of spiltting up the sitemap page into several pages so it is more customer and search engine friendly.
Has anyone done this, or do you have a much better solution you can offer?

    Cheers.

    Wayne.

The Actinic sitemap is generated dynamically from within Actinic so there is little you can do.

From an SEO point of view it does not matter as the links are easily followed (all static HTML) so they can be spidered.

From a user point of view having 3000 products is unwieldy to start with and is not much use to a human user... let alone before you double the number of products.

If you want to make the site map more user friendly I would look at ways of creating different pages (either via PHP, Javascript or XML.. a modified Google sitemap generator for example) and splitting down into sections.

      Hi Jont

"From a user point of view having 3000 products is unwieldy to start with and is not much use to a human user... let alone before you double the number of products."

We have been trading for 7 years online and the 3000 products are all in their own sections and the site ranks well, however we need to be found on certain products and this is the reason for the sitemap listings and one page per product.

Incidentally, how do I change the font size in the actinic sitemap please?

      Cheers.

        Wayne,

You will have to edit Act_Sitemap.html and add the <font size="x"> .. </font> tags around NETQUOTEVAR:SITEMAP.
