email a friend form comes up in pop up window

Hi all

I am wanting an a "email a friend as a text link that opens up a pop up window for them to fill out a form with the link attached

Is there any way i can do this? I have tried fiddling round with the javascript for the standard one used in the AUG and have tried a few suggestions from previous posts but kinda stuck!

solution

however its not perfect as you still have to send the email through outlook but going to look into using php to send it

1. make an extended info box on your product
2. edit the layout to how you desire,
3. now take the email a friend link code from the knowledge base and use it in there

it was that easy lol

if anyone knows a php way of sending the email that would be great!

There are many PHP email forms on the internet available.. should not prove too tricky to incorporate the Actinic stuff to link back to the product in question.

ill dig out mine later, i did do a popup email a friend link
gave options for pre defined messages aswell

search the forum until dig it out

i know its there somewhere

this method is no good for people in internet cafes, libraries etc who do not have outlook or similar on the PC

as jon't says there are plenty pf php scripts out there on www. We use one that includes capcha
