    importing orders into actinic from old PC

    hi, tried a SITE snapshot again, did not get any messages asking me to tick box to export orders. how do i export the orders from my old PC via the file/ menu export option so i can then import them onto my new PC and into actinic.

    I have tried the site snapshot export function, but it seems not to export my old orders.. any ideas on how i can get all my processed orders from actinic on my old pc across to my new PC and back into actinic would be appreciated

    Your best tip is to avoid pointless double posts, a real waste of everyones time. If people want/or can help they will do so. You could always read the help too which is bound to show you how this is done. On V8 on the 4th screen of the snapshot import wizard there is a tickbox for 'All Orders', i would be surprised if something similar is not available in V7. In V8 we also have import orders on the file menu. Apply the logic of those to your v7 knowledge and see what you can come up with.

      Run the snapshot - import again and look at each dialogue, do you not see a checkbox for overwrite orders? We are not talking about a seperate po-up dialogue, just an option in the standard snapshot import.

      If you do not see that option, you have a different version to everyone else.

      To get the orders across to the new PC outside the snapshot, there is no file/ menu export - you need to copy the old ActinicCatalog.mdb database onto the new PC (perhaps in your My Documents folder) and point the import orders routine at that file.

        It's definately there but has slightly different wording, should have been easy to find though.

        From the V7 help :

        5. On the fourth screen of the wizard, you receive a summary of the contents of the snapshot. There is also a checkbox labelled 'Overwrite All Orders in Target Installation'. Select this box if you want to overwrite your current orders with the orders contained in the snapshot. Click 'Next' when ready.
