    Buy One Get One Free

    Does anyone know how to set up buy one get one half price on certain items?

    What your saying is if you order, for example, 1 crate of lager for £10, you can buy a second identical crate of lager for £5 at that same point of sale.

    I do not think there is an easy cross-site way of doing this, however you can add attributes to each product in any promotion, and price that attribute at half the price as the orignial and set the purchase of the attribute to Optional.

    I have to admit I haven't done this for myself, so experiment, in fact you can have as many attributes as you want.

    You could have a Product at £10 Lager XXX
    >>> attribute 1 £5 Lager XXX
    >>> attribute 2 £6 Lager YYY (assuming it cost £12 on its own)
    >>> attribute 3 £1 Salted Nuts,

    ..... you get the picture ....

    My only question, and maybe someone else on the forum can confirm this, is whether you can buy an attribute on its own, which you definately do not want to do, but I'm pretty sure you cannot do this as add to cart is for the whole product including attributes. (However watch out for what "Component As A Separate Order Line" does, this may do exactly what you don't want to happen)

    Worth a go. S!

      I think you need to have business to be able to offer this through the discounts. memory going rusty. you can offer a percentage off extra products. look in the help on your version and search for discounts..
      Also look at the user guide which is downloadable.
      but not quite sure this is what you want.

        Simon is basically right. You can add the same product (or any product) as an attribute and set a different price when chosen as an attribute. Many of us use this to do 'up-selling' - buy X and you can add Y to the order cheaper than the normal Y price. it appears as an option on the X page.

        Jenny is also right. Actinic Business allows you set prices for different quantities of a product: buy 1 for £2, 10 for £10, 100 for £50
