    Upload / Download Problems!

    Hi Guys!
We're having big problems trying to update actinic and download orders! We've just got settled in our new offices and have brought all our computers down here and kept our same actinic setup (three computers, one for uploading to both websites and a computer each for the orders). Everything worked fine on Saturday and we added some new products (to both sites) and when we tried downloading this morning we started receiving errors!

On one of the orders PCs we get
"Warning: Some files on the website appear to have changed since Actinic last uploaded them. These files will be completely refreshed the next time you upload your catalog. Please upload your catalog as soon as this download is complete. The files changed are: oldprice.fil, oldprod.fil, oldtext.fil"

and on the other PC we get the same error but with
    "The files changed are: oldprice.fil, oldprod.fil, oldtext.fil, oldaccount.fil, oldbuyer.fil, oldaddress.fil"

We've tried refreshing our sites but we get the error

"An errror occurred while writing to "acatalog" on the web site. The problem is probably due to permissions problems, but could be due to low disk space. Actinic can not work with these settings. Press Cancel if you would like to manually examine the permissions and disk space on the web site. Press Retry if you would like Actinic to attempt to change the permissions on the directory for you."

    I pressed retry and got:

"227 Entering Passive Mode (217,160,30,148,222,176). 200 Type set to I"

    and then!

"The attempt to change the director permissions did not remedy the problem. Please examine the acatalog directory manually before continuing."

    and then!

"Actinic is unable to upload to the site using the FTP protocol. Select continue to upload the site using HTTP or Cancel to stop the upload."

Then actinic slowly starts uploading the files again until,

"The operation timed out" and the refresh/upload just stops!

Any help would be massivley appreciated! We're not sure if this is an actinic issue or if its something to do with our hosting?

              Hi budgetbumps,
we're hosted with 1and1 on the Professional package. Are you with them also? Because we've tried calling them and they wont put us in a queue or anything they just tell us to call back later!

hmmm...I'm not with 1and1 but I'm getting the same errors you are, on BOTH of my sites this morning.
I've been unable to upload either of them and it's becoming very frustrating.

*UPDATE*...just actually managed ONE successful upload! first of the day!

Sorry I don't have any suggestions though, Nathan, except that it's less likely to be you and more likely to be "them"

the problem is that BT still have the monopoly, most of the other major UK ISPs have to use BT lines.

The only way out of this is a cable provider or mobile phone provider - if there is one available to you
