    Help - Actinic Cashes

I am trying to change hosts & when using the Advanced Network Setup Wizard, Actinic crashes after the request for CGI-Bin url. I am using Actinic 7 & as my post yesterday, I started having problems with the upload & download of information, the cursor chaned but nothing happened! I haven't had any other problems like this!
    Thanks
    Dave

    Hi Dave,

If you're moving hosts then it could be one of several things and we'll need some more info to help.

    - Has the dns been updated to point to the host?

    - Who is the new host? What service are you using?

    - What are your network settings? (save them to a file and then copy and paste them in here).

      as my post yesterday
Then continue on that post as they are related - double posting will only confuse the issue. You can delete this thread

        Hi Mike,
        Thanks for the reply,
The DNS has been pointed to the new site, you can visit the unsecure pages but not the cgi-bin, ssl etc.
        http://www.gardengadgets.co.uk
We are moving to Namesco on a Linux server.

        Network Settings
        Catalog URL: http://www.gardengadgets.co.uk/acatalog/
        CGI-BIN URL: http://www.gardengadgets.co.uk/cgi-bin/
        Codebase: ./
        Path from CGI-BIN..: ../acatalog/

        FTP Details
        Server Host: ftp.hosts.co.uk
        Username: gardengadgets.co.uk
        Password:
        Path to CGI-BIN: /web/cgi-bin/

Thanks for helping, I am no expert & this is sending a little crazy!

looking at your website there's an erronious /web/ in the cgi-bin path. (i.e. if you manully remove it from the link then the cgi-bin stuff works).

SSL will need a new certificate as the website has moved.

Please export and paste the network settings as requested as bits and pieces aren't much help.

Thanks, how do you export the settings (very sorry for my lack of knowledge), I had noticed the "/web/" part & when I tried to upload the changes to get rid of this, thats when Actinic started to crash!

To export your network settings, click on the button marked 'export' on the 'network setup' page.

If you don't have an SSL certificate yet with your new host then you'll need to turn off the SSL settings. Best do this anyway until everything else is working.

OK. It's normally easier to open the text file and then copy and paste the contents into the forum. It might be best for you to remove the file and do this as you have left your username and password settings in there.

                I would change

                PATHTOCGIBIN /web/cgi-bin/

                to /cgi-bin/

                and then progress from there.

                Alternatively run the network wizard.

                    I'm glad it's sorted.

If you can, it would be nice if you could help anyone else who might have setup problems with namesco in the future by posting the working settings here.
