    coupons and minimum order

Does anyone have a fix for coupons and minimum order?

If minimum order is set to £12 and coupon is £20 with £20 trigger they still have to order place an order 12 over their coupon.

Not good have to set to no minimum: to many small almost worthless orders.

Not fair to coupon holders to have to purchase much over coupon amount.

    From the online help

Note: If you are using a coupon to trigger a discount, and the discount will take a customer’s order value below the minimum order level, a warning message will only be shown if the customer enters the coupon while shopping - not when the coupon is entered in the checkout.
so the answer would appear to be restrict entry of the coupon code to checkout.

Thank you this is very helpful, but even when I check coupons on checkout the field doesn't show. It shows in the edit basket though.
