    EMERGENCY! Actinic crashed...

    Hi All,

I've got a bit of an emergency.

I've just put in several hours on Actinic making very tedious changes, I then went to export a snapshot and Actinic crashed thus losing all my changes.

    I know I should've backed up earlier!

Before it crashed I uploaded the site which has all my changes, is there a way I can download everything from the site (with the changes I made) and put it back into Actinic?

It will save me several hours as well as my sanity!

    Thanks
    Rob

You can download images and copy and paste text - that is as good as it gets.

Crashing at snapshot should not kill the database as this would have been updated each time you added, applied, navigated to different products etc. The snapshot will be trashed but the .MDB file should (in theory) still be usable.

I've never seen a crash in Actinic wipe any data from the DB before in all teh years I've used it.
As Jont said, as soon as you enter data and click apply the data is written to the database. It can only then be "lost" by deleting the record in the DB or by trashing the DB itselt. Creating snapshots would not mangle the DB as it simply tries to copy/compress it. There are certainly no deleting functions going on during a snapshot.

        Thanks for replying Jont.

I reloaded Actinic (without importing anything etc) and all my changes had gone.

Sorry guys, I went straight into panic mode without checking fully. The changes seem to be there.

I wish I checked first before smashing the plate next to me in rage!

            Panic over.
            Thanks again.
