Can This Be Done In V7 Catalog?

    Hi all,

having sifted through the forums I canot find this answered anywhere so apologies if it has been!!!

I offer free postage if any order is over £75, now here comes the problem!!!

If someone buys an LCD television, it is obviously over £75 but due to needing this insured it needs to be exempt from the free postage. Is this possible and if so, how?

I presently have my site set to work out postage costs based on weight until it hits the £75 mark in value, then postage is free.

    Many thanks in advance

    Matt

      Hi Jo,

I had thought of that but wondered if there was some way of removing a product from the free postage offer.

Thanks anyway!!! Do you know if this can be done easily in V8?

You can add a component to any item and call it 'carriage insurance' or whatever. Say in the description it will be added to the price. It can be a different amount on each product where you want to add it. Make sure you select pricing model as the 'sum of product and components prices' and it will be shown seperately and added to the total in the shopping basket.

We do this on very heavy items that require special transport.

Thanks David!!!! That is perfect. Just need to update the description to explain why it is not part of the free postage scheme.

I had been racking my brain (cell) for ages as to how I could do this.

              Much appreciated.
