New site - Help with homepage (looks naff)

    Hi,

    Here's my latest website - http://www.rhinopro.co.uk

I'm happy with the overall design, except for the homepage (I'm always rubbish at those for some reason)

Any comments on how it could be improved visually? I'm happy with the structure of it (I want it to be pretty simple and just lead into the 2 main product sections)

There are a couple of great offers that could be added but I don't know where to put them or how to do those whizzy 'splash' graphics...

    Cheers.

    A few things...

My immediate thought is that you should change the hazard chevrons arounding your logo and at the bottom of the pages. I thought yur site was under construction. Your logo doesn't relate in any way to to the products you sell - arriving at your site I would immediately what you were selling.

Regarding your homepage - you might be better off using a standard theme but keeping your productline templates.

I could only find the shipping costs after adding to basket.

Good point. I was trying to use something that used the 2 main colours - black and yellow - and as these are industrial products I thought the hazard stripes looked pretty good. However, I hadn't considered that they are often used on 'site under construction' pages, so that has been changed for just plain stripes.

I'm selling a specialised range of industrial label printers known as rhinopro, so the logo and sitename are perfect for this. I'm not too concerned about confusing casual browsers, the majority of customers will have found the site after searching specifically for rhinopro printers or rhinopro tapes so will know exactly what it's all about...

Yes, I'm just trying to think of the best place to put them without having to add a whole new page. Also just noticed I don't have a search box...
