actinic 6 working all ok on XP but trying to get it to work on vista getting access denied

Try switching off the User Access Control in Vista, as Vista is a more secure OS that does not like user files within the program files folders, so switching that off might help.

The oldest version of actinic whuch is vista `compatible is 7.07

As Tecno says, User Account Control is the culprit. Keeping it enabled improves security so it may be better to do leave it set on. The following will allow this.

Uninstall Actinic, then re-install. When you get to the Select Install Directory screen enter C:\Actinic Ecommerce v6 and continue with the install. Actinic will now be in the aforementioned folder and Vista won't complain.

Whether it will fully work or not will need testing. I see that you have to update V7 to 7.0.7 for Vista.
