    £ replaced by ?

    Hi

    We run actinic v6 but recently some of the prices in the store are appearing prefixed with ? rather than £ . this is very confusing. It doesnt happen with the main items in the store but does with the shipping charge!

            LOL a max of 5 mins Mal, 90 seconds in reality. Sterling effort i say, 90 seconds more than most.

              I was searching for £ not 'pound sign'. We searched for over an hour yesterday if that makes you feel better!

              It used to work and now it doesn't, we have <META HTTP-EQUIV="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> in our code, we also are hosted with actinic.

              Any fresh ideas would be appreciated.

                    your problem is character encodings.

                    i'm not aware of how v6 deals with this, but you need to find out what you did to break this.

                    the enconding you mentioned is the default one, but perhaps something has changed it? is your browser set the the same encoding?

                        Should obviously be £12.99

                        We havent changed anything here in years, we are hosted with actinic.

                          looks fine here in FF...shows a £ sign everywhere it should do
                          It does, however, have some weird symbols top left of the screen

                           show at the top left of every page

                          I can see the problem in IE7 though (and no weird hieroglyphs on the pages in IE either)

                            Check your (outer) layouts - you have at least two BODY tags on that page...
