Revert back to your last snapshot, could take you ages to work out what has happened. That will get you back to as you were straight away. What have you been messing with?

Well i could be something to do with the index.php, but not sure. Just reverted back the last snapshot and going to update and i'll tell you the outcome

Well after the revert did nothing i tried looking at the files on the server to see if i had altered any by mistake. I do remeber that the previous devloper informed me that the site was wokring off a redirect!? whatewver that is. So when i looked on the server the index.php was outside of the acatalog folder. i replaced it with an old back-up of this redirect file and it seems to have solved the problem. Is there any reason why the index.php outside of the acatalog folder is needed can't i just teel actinic to use the one in the site folder on the server. or is none of this making much sense? FrAz

The usual reason is that many developers who are not used to Actinic create an external index page because they do not know how to use the actinic brochure index page to create the design they want. The redirect is not a good thing either.

Bit of a mess really -

Contact a designer who knows actinic to sort it all out for you - unless someone wants to spend the next few weeks doing it on the forum for you.

Reading this, it seems to me the site uses index.php at the root to redirect to acatalog/index.html
thus if you want the site to open at acatalog/index.html leave the php redirect in place at the root.

However if you want to put a front page on the site and open at root/index.html use the Actinic Brochure page/Home page feature. There are plenty of posts in the forum about how to configure the brochure Home page, and its probably in the help files too
