    Error with Payment Service Provider

    Hi

My client is running v6.1.4, and does not want to upgrade and personally I don't think he should have to unless completely necessary. I have been doing work on his site on my PC and everything works perfectly - no issues at all.

However, on taking over a Snaphot of his site and importing it into an old and fresh install of v6.14 on his PC we hit an unusual problem that I have not encountered in Actinic before:

The site refresh/update fails and the following error message appears:

Payment Service Provider, WorldPay failed to register properly - Class ID ({AC070015-43EE-11D2-9520-080000511272})

Furthermore, in View | Business Settings | Payment and Security - The 'Configure Method' button throws up the same error message followed by the 'Payment Service Provider Configuration' window with no details other than: Web site Description - WorldPay
    Provider - Static
(i.e. all the meat and potatoes of this window are missing)

Lastly, the same error appears when you do an Advanced | Generate Scripts.

So, my client can't get going with his Actinic Software, even though the network settings are all ok and passes fine and the rest of the back-end looks cool...and the site works absolutely fine on my PC.

I have done all the usual .pm/.pl/.fil/.cat files deletion and copying etc, I have compacted the database, I have purged like a Russian dictator to no avail.

Please help...I hate not sorting stuff out and there is only one other person I have found on the forums who has suffered similarly. The advice was to make sure that PSPSetup.exe is set up from the disc - we did this to no avail, and the thread was no longer than this one suggestion....

Going Mad...my head is turning to mashed potato...

Apologies...just checking....I'm impressed by that response time, I guess I don't know how the forums work in terms of the speed people read new posts...the issue is obviously a bit of a stinker considering the number of people who have read the post and the lack of solutions?

The lack of response will be more to do with the fact that few people have experience of v6.

however reading your Q I'm not absolutley sure i have understood the issue. Are you saying the site works fine on your PC but not on your client's.

if so i'd clear actinic from your clients pc and re-install, check on the actinic site that you have the latest psp.exe file for v6.

Where is the latest data - your PC or client? make sure you have several copies of this and a backup copy of site1 (snapshots weren't too reliable in v6)

[EDIT] woops just noticed you have reinstalled 6.1.4 - try the latest psp.exe or upgrade to 6.1.5 (this is the final patch for 6 and there should be no issues up - patching)

I have noticed that the problem may result from the fact that when I try and re-add in my clients PSP information in Business Settings | Payment and Security that Worldpay does not appear in the drop down list of available Payment Providers....

This is also the case in my working version...WorldPay does not appear as an option in PSP dropdown....

I believe it will only appear in the dropdown list if it hasn't already been used though.
So, if it's already being used and set up on the site (albeit not working) it won't appear for your to add it again independantly of the first setup.
I think that's right! (although, heaven knows I'm getting stuff wrong today!)

                    Thanks for that Tracy

I've also noticed that when I choose any of the other service providers in the drop down list they all come up with the same error just a slightly different class id number.....

It's very frustrating not understanding these error messages....

AKAIK to be compatible with the latest protocols that the PSPs are running for PCI-DSS compliance you need to be using V6.1.5 and run the V6 PSP upgrade patch.

I would imagine that's your problem. Try running the V6 PSP upgrade patch.

Edit: The PSP upgrade patches can be found here http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/downloads.htm under 'Payment Gateway Updates'

                        Done both same error appears...

I have just done a complete deletion of the old site and actinic from my clients PC. I have downloaded the 6.1.5 version and the up to date v6 psp file and installed them.

I then checked the system with the default Actinic shop. Everything appeared to be fine in the settings for the PSPs in Business Settings | Payment and Security, i.e. you could configure PSP details.

I then copied my clients Site1 folder over and opened up Actincic again. The site is there fine, but when going to Business Settings | Payment and Security and trying to configure the details, the same error pops up.

I have done a snapshot too and this hasn't worked either.

                        I'm a now truly at a loss.

I think I need to flag up again that my clients site works fine on my PC, no problems at all.

It is only on his PC that it doesn't work. It must be something to do with the Site1 or Snapshot. They are not working with his system. I've loaded both into my system and they work fine, but not on his.

His default (out of the box) Actinic PSP settings seem to be fine it is only the imported Snapshot or replaced Site1 that is not happening with regards to the PSP configuration.

                            Strange.

If you're both running the same version of Actinic with the latest psp patch then it should work. All I can suggest is making sure you both have the psp installed, create a new snapshot and try that one.

If that doesn't work then I'd suggest calling Actinic support but I believe they're no longer supporting V6 which means a version upgrade is in order.

In the long run it's going to be for the best anyway. V9 (and it's junior sibling V8) is a major step on from V6. It will also save your client from the costs you're building up on this.
