    Applet problem

New V6 site launched, was working fine but now when you get to the Actinic encryption we get the pop up message:

(Error reading the order from the applet parameters. This is
usually a programming issue, but is probably due to a
corrupt network transfer of the web page HTML. Try
reloading the page. If the problem persists, save this web
page to your local hard drive and copy the errors from your
Java console to a file. Then send both of these pieces of
information along with URL of the catalog to the catalog
    administrator or support@actinic.com)

    Any ideas?

I had this problem the other day and it was solved for me this way.

(I only really know the answer in Internet Explorer, although I am sure there are similar settings in Netscape and Other browsers)

If you go to Tools>Internet Options> under the Advanced Tab there is an entry that Reads, 'Disable Script Debugging' and this needs to be 'Ticked'

If yours is already ticked then this obviously isn't the solution.

I leave script debugging enabled as we mess around quite a lot with scripts and it is a useful function, but as a default, most web users have it disabled so you have no major concern however Actinic may like to look into it as it is a potential problem in that you can lose many orders from the unfortunate webusers that DO, like you, have script debugging enabled and DONT have access to this forum and its wisdoms...(haha)

Whilst you are checking if it is enabled, in the Standard Windows fashion, you can click the little question mark next to the X (for Close) and then actually click on the line that reads 'Disable Script Debugging' and you will get a description of that function, and indeed repeat for any other you wish to know more about.

I hope this solves your immediate problem.

        Sorted

Well after many hopurs we managed to sort this one out!
Stupidly we needed to upgrade a customer to V6 from V4.
We didn't have a V4 software on the development machine so we imported his snapshot straight into V6.
This seem to have corrupted the encrpt.cab file in the software.
        Sofwear reinstalled, now all O.K.

I'm getting the same problem on a Catalog v6.0.2.0.0.0.CNNA store that I'm building for a client. If I OK the error message and enter a credit card number, the applet hangs on 'Encrypting'. My client is also getting the error message on their machine.

Assuming the problem is a corrupted encrypt.cab file, could anyone email a copy to office@artisan-inter.net, please?

          TIA

            From Old user forum

Yes. The point I was making was that Java VM is no longer installed by
default. Being that the Actinic Java thing was used to encrypt and transfer
CC info, this has become more of an issue for *new* customers.

If I want to buy from your shop and am invited to undertake a 9Mb download
before I can checkout I am likely to be inclined to abandon the purchase
whereas it should present no problem to people who have Java VM already
            installed.

Many thanks for the files, Gary. I saved them, did a site refresh, and all is now well.
