    V6 and Vista

    Hi all,

Just been out today and bought myself a new HP PC and wondering, can I install V6.5 on Windows Vista OK?

    Thanks

I doubt it. You can try, but disable Vista user security first.

Otherwise you can install virtual pc, load it with XP and run Actinic in that.

Can someone confirm that Actinic V6.1.5 will not work on Vista??

Does anyone have a spare unused copy of V8?
I don't really want to go to V9 as yet.

As far as im aware it wont run on vista without turning of UAC (as Duncan has already pointed out), even then it maybe a flakey and you might have to run it in compatibility mode.

Try it, what have you got to lose

          Thanks Darren...

I'll try it and see what happens, may have to continue with the antique PC in the meantime as well as a shiny new Vista laptop

We're still running V707 on Vista, which I think was the earliest version "officially" approved to run on it. I seem to remember that we still had fun and games with compatiblity mode, UAC, and setting user permissions before we got it to work.
