    Paypal return to website

I have lots of customers who insist on paying by paypal.
I have had a long standing problem since taking over the website from a useless partner who walked awy, togehter with the developer help he had "hired".
The paypal payment did not return the customer to the website, so no order acknowledgment was ever received.
At last Paypal Paypal Merchant Technical Support helped me yesterday to change my Paypal Website Payment Preferences, and I have set on something called IPN in my Paypal profile.
Result is that I have at last now got Paypal returning to our websystem. I set the return address in the Paypal Payment Prefernces to to -
    http:blahblahourwebaddress/cgi-bin/os000999.pl

I don't know that this is right, but I spotted that the return address is saved somewhere in script os000002, but couldn't discover what it actually is.
I am out of my depth here, despite an ancient programmer background, but nobody else has helped me to sort it out when I have called Actinic Support (which I don't subscribe to).
Does anybody know if this looks right, and if not, what should the return address be?

It does now seem to be working in most respects.
Customer now gets a confirmation email, but we don't get any copy of it, as we do with orders where payments were with Protx. We do get a little email headed - Catalogue Order Received - body "A new catalog order has been received at your web site since you last downloaded", which happens for everything now, but as we should get a copy of the customer's order acknowledgement, the websystem is still not right.

No you do not get a copy so the system is working correctly. If you want a copy enter your email into ordering in business settings. The email you get from protx is from them not actinic. You should get a payment email from paypal but not the order details.
