If you are trying to go the w3c route then you may be best applying one of the clean themes to start with rather than trying to fix what you have now. I think I started with clean 14 to get it down to 9 errors.

W3C IMO is a waste of effort if you are doing it for SEO reasons - try running Google.co.uk through the checker and you will see that thier page has no doc type and 61 errors. Its been like this for years - also if you run it through the ie8 beta the page breaks!

Whilst desirable the effort can be better spent elsewhere on Actinic sites. Most people have never heard of W3C and most will not care if it passes or not .. so long as the site works that is the main consideration.

I love clean code but gave up W3C on Actinic sites a long time back ... add in something like Lightbox and that throws a wobbly on plain XHTML sites. You can't win.

Just in time for web 3.0 and all the tricks that will inevitably employ. Makes you wonder how long <html> has left before it is ditched.
