      thanks Gary - shouldn't there be some inverted commas at the end ?

      <a href="http://www.style-by-design.co.uk/cgi_bin/os000001.pl?ACTION=Start!">

      instead of:

      <a href="http://www.style-by-design.co.uk/cgi_bin/os000001.pl?ACTION=Start!>

      ?

          checkout button doesn't work

          am afraid adding the exclamation mark and speech marks doesn't make any difference i.e:

          <a href="http://www.style-by-design.co.uk/cgi_bin/os000001.pl?ACTION=Start!">

          still doesn't come up with the goods..?

            The problem is with the payment.fil file. Double check your payment methods you accept and make sure there's at least a valid payment method accepted, then do a refresh of the site. Might work...

                Hi Michelle

                Have you tried deleting *.fil in both the local and remote directories and refreshing the site? Do you network settings test ok?

                  Ben

                  Haven't tried deleting the *.fil file yet but I tested my network settings and sure enough the SSL didn't work...got this:

                  The test script failed to execute on the web server. The error could be caused by several things. Check the path to the Perl shell, the CGI script extension, the path to CGI-BIN, and the CGI-BIN URL. This error could also occur if your web site is out of disk space or your web server is not configured to accept POSTs to CGI scripts.

                  James Matthews at Actinic was kindly trying to sort permissions out with the host company...

                  What is this: *.fil and in order to delete it which folder is it in ? Is it still worth doing given the above issue ?

                    The .fil files should be in your /acatalog/ directory. These are payment.fil, ActinicShipping.fil, etc. Try sorting out the problems with the SSL/hosting company first as this seems the most likely problem now

                      if I end up having to delete the .fil files - is it all of them I must delete ?

                        This is right. The problems were caused by trying to use Actinic with SSL in the checkout only, on Fasthosts servers. As far as I'm aware, this can't be achieved with their setup because there is no path between secure and non-secure space.
