    images not appearing on website

I was doing some general work on my site last night and I noticed that not all the images assigned to products are visible. Before I uploaded the site I checked the preview of the page and the images are visible on the preview. I am using Windows XP is that the problem? All the images for the page are in the same 'folder' and are in the same format... none of them have any spaces in the names and they are all jpegs- yet, only half of the images in the 'folder' are visible on the active website. What can I do to correct this? Presumably if I can't see the images then some of my customers can't see them either. Thank you in advance for your help- Nancy

I would try a site refresh.

the image names seem ok, I can't see any other problems

I have refreshed and re-loaded the site etc. Can you see all the images associated with all the products on the Torches page?

            No I can't!! Very wierd.....

just wondering if the problem has any thing to do with uppercase and lowercase characters in the filename

All the image names are in lower case with no spacing and they are all the same format. So the names for the ones you can see are the same for the ones you can't. Does anyone from Actinic Support have any ideas?

                OK one last idea.................

in the product dialog box where you define the image path name are you using a pathname on the hard drive ie c: etc and are you sure the image is located at that path

in other words.....all your images are in site1, but are all your pathnames imagename.jpg ?

yes... what I am doing now is re-naming the images. My trial one seems to work... perhaps they were all corrupted somehow... although I still don't know why I could see it in the 'preview' mode and then not on the 'live' website.

I assume you can see them images in preview because they are on the hard drive. but for some reason they aren't being uploaded

                      Hi there

The pictures in question, try adding them in "Advance | Additional Files". This should upload the images into the /acatalog/ folder

                      Kind Regards

                        Hi Nadeem

that is of course a solution, but its a hack. The images are product images which should be uploaded as part of tthe normal routine

                          Hi there

I will pass the details across to developer regarding this issue. It is quite a strange one. You are correct Jo, the images should be uploaded to the /acatalog/ automaticely

The solution i provided was just so Nancy can get the images uploaded to her site

Once i have found any information from the developers i will post it here.

                          Kind Regards

                            Hi Nancy,

Our developer would need a snapshot of the site, as this is an unusual problem.

Please could you email me the snapshot to:
                            communityadmin@actinic.co.uk

and make it for the attention of Nadeem Rasool

                            Kind Regards
